In the essay “The Undertaking”, the author Lynch argues that people can’t really come to terms with death anymore. In the video Lynch talks about how families will sometimes only have a small ceremony and wont have a full process. I believe this is due to the fact that times have changed and that families and individuals cannot always cope with that family member or friend being gone. While some can come to terms about loved ones passing on, for example in the video about “The Undertaking”, the mother and father of the two year old who is dying have come to terms with whats going on. While their peers keep trying to make a reason as to why the child will live or just make the parents feel better they know how it will all end. So for these reasons I do agree with Lynch.
